What
other grant-giving organisations are there? |
|
In
addition to the Japan Foundation there are two other organisations in the UK that
give grants for Japan related projects: the
GB Sasakawa Foundation and the
Daiwa Anglo Japanese Foundation
|

Can
the Japan Foundation support the cost of my undergraduate / postgraduate study? |
|
The
Japan Foundation cannot give grants for undergraduate or postgraduate study in
any country.

Can
I apply to the Japan Foundation retrospectively? |
|
No,
you must apply for our funding before your project starts. For most of our grants
the deadline is once a year. Please read Our Funding

Japanese Studies
|

Do you give grants for school projects? |
|
We cannot give grants for school projects. We do however run an annual Study Tour to Japan for secondary school teachers who teach about Japan as part of their subject area. For details please contact Esther Williams in this office.

How can I apply for a Japan Foundation grant for an international conference? |

The
Japan Foundation has four programmes designed to support the holding of or participation
in international conferences in Japan or the UK. For full details please go to

How can I apply for a Japan Foundation Fellowship in Japanese studies? |

How can I get funds to do postgraduate work in Japan? |
|
The
Japan Foundation does not give grants for postgraduate study in Japan. Please
consult the Japanese Embassy site www.embjapan.org.uk
- for details on the Monbusho Scholarship scheme for postgraduate study and research
in Japan. Our Fellowship programme has
a category for those doctoral candidates wishing to conduct research in Japan
for PhD dissertation purposes. |

I would like to take British theatre companies to Japan. Would the Japan Foundation help financially? |
|
Although we are happy to give any advice, The Japan Foundation’s primary concern is to assist Japan related events taking place outside Japan. Should you consider to taking your company to Japan, please contact the relevant organisations, such as the British Council for help. |
